Do you Know How Often You Should Post on Social Media?

Do you wonder how often you should post on social media to increase engagement and get more followers? If you do, you are not left out. Most people do. That’s because there’s an art and science of posting on social media. This art and science is what you need to follow if you really want to get more engagements on your posts which will lead you to get more followers and reach.

For example, Facebook is favouring user-generated contents (UGCs). Which means, your content on Facebook will get you more relevance and conversion if users generate contents for you. Such content are in the form of comments and shares. But to get the comments and shares, you need to know when to post on social media like Facebook to get the UGCs. This works for other social medias like Twitter, Linkedin, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest etc.

To know how often you show post on social media sites, you’ll need to do a lot of testing to figure out how often. Also, the testing and research helps you find out when is the best time of the day or of the week you need to post and how often. However, to save you time doing the research yourself, you will be glad to know that the research is already done for you.

Frequency of Posting on Social Media Channels

According to research by Buffer, here’s what was revealed about the optimal posting frequency for each social media channel:

Facebook – 2 times per day
Twitter – 3 times per day
LinkedIn – 1 time per day
Google+ – 3 times per day
Pinterest – 5x per day
Instagram – 1.5 times per day

Looking at the research result, I’m sure you post on social media channels much more times as stated in the research. You see, getting engagements and followers is not about posting many times. It’s about posting less so you can get more engagements. It’s simple to say the more frequency of posting, the less engagement you get and the less frequency of posting, the more engagement you get. This has been statistically proven and you can apply this research also to yourself.

You should know by now that all the social media channels allows you to post images. Which means, yo shouldn’t forget to add captivating images to your post when you post on social media. If you want to get 40 times more engagement on each social media, you’ll want to use visuals. You don’t need to be a professional graphic designer to use quality visuals. You can either use non-copyrighted images source (e.g. Pexels) or use free graphic design tools (e.g. Canva).
